MAHAVEER
SWAMI
Mahaveer Swami (b. 1959) carries forward the rich lineage of the Bikaner school of miniature painting, trained under master painter Shri Vedpal Sharma “Bannu.” Using fine line, naturally derived pigments, and subtle gold detailing, Swami brings together Mughal refinement, Rajasthani elegance, and a contemporary sensibility. His paintings, depicting saints, sages, and the flora and fauna of India, invite collectors into a meditative, immersive experience, where nature is sacred, presence is cultivated, and each work becomes a living testament to devotion and craftsmanship.

“In miniature painting, the artistry extends far beyond the act of illustration—it begins with preparing the wasli (paper), grinding pigments, making inks of gold, silver, and tin, and even crafting the brushes.
This entire handwoven journey, from material preparation to the final image, embodies a dialogue between devotion, patience, and craftsmanship.”
