Jyoti Lal Karn & Moti Karn are Indian artists working within the Madhubani (Mithila) painting tradition of Bihar, a practice historically passed through generations of women.
 

Moti Karn, a National Award–winning artist, represents an established lineage of Madhubani painting, having trained under one of the tradition’s most recognised masters. Jyoti Lal Karn, her daughter-in-law and student, continues this lineage, refining her practice under Moti’s guidance.
 

Working with natural pigments and traditional techniques, their paintings combine intricate line work and colour-filled forms to depict mythological and ritual subjects. Together, their work offers collectors an authentic continuation of Madhubani painting, grounded in heritage and sustained through direct transmission across generations.
